Riad Issa

Riad Issa

Mr. Riad Issa is a social, union and rights activist in Lebanon and the Arab world. He studied engineering in Beirut Arab University but stopped in the third year due to his detention for many years in Israeli Prisons. Among other fields, he is an expert in training for human rights cases, unions, elections, strategic planning, defense and advocacy campaigns, and conflict resolution. He has taken part in the establishment of numerous civil society organizations including associations, unions and local and Arab networks covering various topics. He has also taken part in a number of local, Arab and international conferences, forums, and training sessions.

Mr. Issa is founding member and secretary of the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections, president of the Volunteers Without Borders association, president of the Education Scouts in Lebanon association, founding member of the Lebanese Observatory for the Rights of Workers and Employees, member of the Lebanese Trade Union Training Center, founding member of the League of Arab People, founding member of the Union of Arab Trainers, founding member of the Arab Dialogue Network and founding member of SRDH association (for work among Syrian Refugees).
