Nassib Nasr
Mr. Nassib Nasr was appointed Assistant Vice President for Development for the Middle East and Europe at LAU in May 2011. As head of the Development Office, Mr. Nasr works to increase support for scholarships, professorships, educational program development, facilities renovation and expansion, as well as the development of the University Medical Center-Rizk Hospital, with a goal to position it as one of the premier hearth care delivery and teaching facilities in the region. In his role, Mr. Nasr leads LAU’s Campaign for Excellence: The Legacy & The Promise — the university’s five-year fundraising drive, which was publicly launched in October 2008 with a goal of raising $65 million to help the university grow — and plans to initiate an even larger campaign. Mr. Nasr brings with him 20 years of experience in administration and fundraising, with expertise in developing strategies and executing plans for profitable and non-profit institutions with a primary focus on not-for-profit organizations, particularly hospitals and health care centers. During his years as an administrator and development professional, Mr. Nasr has formed one of the largest donor networks in the region, including country heads and business leaders in Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining LAU, Mr. Nasr held a post as International Outreach Director of the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) at the American University of Beirut’s Medical Center, where he succeeded in increasing donations to the center by millions of dollars over a period of five years, allowing it to increase the number of children treated from 65 to 100 per year. From 2001 to 2005, he was the General Manager of CCCL. From 1999 to 2001, he was the Manager of the American Hospital Project in Kuwait. From 1992 to 1999, he was the Hospital Administrator of Kuwait Clinic, the first establishment of its kind in Kuwait. From 1991 to 1992, he was the Hospital Director of Al Jabal Hospital in Lebanon. Mr. Nasr holds a Master in Public Health - Hospital Administration and Health Management from AUB. He also holds a B.S. in Biology, and completed two years of medical school at AUB.
